The car-free future is here—and she’s adorable.
Remember when I wrote the post, “Our car-free future spit up on my shirt?”
Can you believe that was more than two years ago? The car-free future is here!
That adorable little baby in the flowered dress lounging in the grass? Here she is today, cozying up in her bike trailer, where she rides happily behind her mom, Jamie. In the picture, you can see her sporting the bike helmet my boyfriend and I got her for her first birthday.
Nina is two years old, and because she’s already seeing and experiencing the world of cycling, she’s more likely to be a part of it when she gets older.
The mother and daughter not only go on pleasure rides, but many days this summer, the two bike-commuted to work and day care. And they do all of this in a small Ohio town, where bike-commuting is certainly not the norm.
Know why Nina is smiling? Because she knows she’s going to grow up to be a competent cyclist!
I am so proud of Jamie and Nina I could just kiss them both—and the next time I see them, I just might!
